When Selphie Tilmitt returned from Econtra, she was changed from the girl her friends knew her as. She was ever the same bubbly bundle of fun, but tempered with an air of maturity and determination as a result of her time in a war camp. She also returned very much smitten with one of her fellows from the compound. She went on to help her comrades defeat Ultimecia, and while she remained best friends with the sniper Kinneas, their relationship never blossomed beyond that. Instead, she spent time doing research with Doc Odine and created a machine which allowed the use of para-magic without the need for GF's. Armed with her invention, she returned to Trabia Garden, determined to rebuild the Garden. Two years later, her sweetheart from the compound, Nocturne, showed up at the Garden, eventually starting a family of their own.
Minnie is the fourth of the five Kanalui children terrorizing Trabia Garden. For years, she was the baby of the family, and possibly the most obnoxious of all the children, being a mechanical and scholastic prodigy. There's been speculation that she is the child most like her mother, and that bears out in more than just her hair and eye color. She's spunky, loud and speaks with a bluntness that can come across as abrasive. However, she's lacking in her mother's inherent kindness and actually means what she says. She got the brains in the family too, but none of the clueless or clumsy behaviors. She demanded to enroll at Trabia Garden as soon as she was old enough (age five) and has consistently been at the top of her classes, outshining her brother as well. She's two years away from taking the SeeD field exam which bothers her only slightly less than the idea of her "useless" older brother taking it first.
Skill-wise, outside of her mechanical/electronic aptitude, she's a brilliant alchemist and fights with a projectile weapon that fires her mixes at opponents.
